The proposal lasted five days. The Zcash Community Grants committee, which floated on October 29 a plan to move 36,200 of its roughly 91,500 ZEC into the Network Sustainability Mechanism and waive a large share of its future Dev Fund income, withdrew it on the Zcash forum on November 3: "We've decided not to take this proposal forward," CryptoTicker reported. Together the transfer and waiver came to about 98,000 ZEC, around $126 million at current prices. The committee still receives 8% of new ZEC, about 144 coins a day, and three rival proposals remain open: co-founder Sean Bowe would end the allocation outright, a draft from Tachyon Group and Shielded Labs backed by Bowe and Zooko Wilcox would send 50,000 ZEC to the sustainability fund, and Daira-Emma Hopwood would keep the 8% but tie it closer to real ZEC usage. None is adopted, and any change to issuance needs a future network upgrade, since NU7 includes none of them. ZEC traded at $1,283.61 at 7:50 p.m. CET on November 4, per CoinGecko data cited by CryptoTicker, up 5.7% in 24 hours and about 13% off Tuesday morning's $1,134.67 low, with a market value near $21.9 billion.
