Friday, October 30, was the heaviest day of redemptions for U.S. spot bitcoin funds since June 25: $643.2 million out and nothing in, per Farside Investors data cited by 24/7 Wall St. BlackRock's IBIT lost $233.7 million, Fidelity's FBTC $201 million and ARK 21Shares' ARKB $129.5 million, and the funds' combined assets closed at $98.14 billion, their first close under $100 billion this month. That one session wiped out the week. After four straight days of inflows, the week ending October 30 finished about $202.4 million negative, and October as a whole about $515 million negative, despite IBIT taking in money over the month. Ether funds fared worse, with an 11th straight day of outflows and $1.61 billion gone in October. Laevitas analyst Rick Maeda called Friday "simply a de-risking day, and not capitulation," in comments reported by 99Bitcoins, and the price did not follow the funds down: bitcoin traded at $78,210 early Monday, November 2 (99Bitcoins, 1:24 a.m. Pacific), after printing three higher lows above its $76,326 low of October 30.
