Two wallets last active in 2013 moved 416.69 BTC, about $34 million, on Saturday, October 17, with both transfers confirmed in block 971,894, mined by MARA Pool, according to Bitcoin.com News citing btcparser.com. One wallet, created November 12, 2013, sent 248.853 BTC to several unidentified addresses. The other, dating to August 20, 2013, moved 167.84 BTC. Bitcoin.com News found no evidence the coins were sold. Old supply has been stirring all autumn, though the pace has slowed. Dormant coins moved so far in October total 774.17 BTC, against 6,427.59 in August and 5,401.841 across 94 transfers in September, 3,790 of them in the first two weeks of that month. Earlier this month a wallet from July 11, 2012 moved exactly 25 BTC on October 2 after about 14.2 years untouched, and on October 8 Galaxy Digital flagged 100 BTC moving from coins first mined in 2010. A transfer and a sale are different events, and with no sale confirmed in this case, the cooler October pace says more about old supply than any single move does.
