KuCoin's 00:00 UTC snapshot had bitcoin at $83,172.70, up 1.61%, and ether at $2,497.63, up 2.06%, with the Fear and Greed index recovering to 62 from 57. That was the setup heading into the CPI release, and the pre-release bid did not survive it. Underneath the price, two things stand out from the same report. Long-term holders are sitting on roughly 72% unrealized gains, and a dormant early wallet moved 4,582 BTC, about $378 million at the quoted level, which is the kind of transfer that only happens when someone with a very low cost basis decides the current price is worth acting on. Strive meanwhile added 3,311 BTC last week to reach 32,773. Those three facts point in different directions, which is roughly the honest description of this tape: old supply testing the exit while new corporate demand keeps showing up at the same prices.
