Roughly 4,000 BTC was withdrawn from the Liquid Network, the Bitcoin sidechain, by parties describing themselves as white-hat hackers, who have since said they intend to return most of it once the underlying bug is fixed. Recovery framed as voluntary is not recovery until the coins actually move, and holders are relying on the word of whoever holds the keys. It lands in a stretch that has already included the Coldcard exploit, the BTCPay Server disclosure and the Zilliqa emergency fork.
